It’s that time of year again!
This is an annual off-season competition between triathlon clubs around the country. The goal is to accumulate the most training miles of our members compared to the members of other clubs. And the cool thing is that you don’t have to do anything extra. Just let us know how many miles you are swimming, biking, and running, and we will enter your data into the national database for the challenge.
The challenge runs for 3 months — December through February. We track miles in all three sports in all three months, but each month has a focus sport, with awards to the clubs that get the most miles in that sport for that month, or reach the target miles earlier. December is swim focus, January is bike focus, and February is run focus.
The rules are simple. To participate, you must be a current paid member of BTC as well as a current member of USAT.
If your USAT membership is expired, you might as well renew now, as it will cover you through the race season next year. Renew at: http://www.usatriathlon.org/
Every time you have swim, bike, or run workouts to report, you can easily do so at the following link:
http://teambtc.org/modules.php?name=usat_challenge
Enter your name and the distances for each sport in which you trained. The first time you enter data (or in advance), please enter your USAT number, along with either your birth-date or your age as of Dec 1, 2009. We need that information to add you into the system.
Any swim/bike/run workouts can be counted, inside or out. If you don’t know the distance, please estimate. If you do a race, you can count that as well. All entries must be of actual workouts, not upcoming. Unfortunately, only those three sports count. We do not track skiing, weighlifting, shoveling snow, kite flying, or beer drinking.
There are prizes for the club involved, but even better is the bragging rights if we can beat some of the other clubs around the country.
Get some spirit, support your club, and keep active this winter!
